Only the Wise love the Eucharist

"Eternal Wisdom, on the other hand, wished to prove His love for man by dying in His place in order to save him, but on the other hand, He could not bear the thought of leaving Him. So He devised a marvelous way of dying and living at the same time, and of abiding with man until the end of time. So, in order to fully satisfy His love, He instituted the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist and went to the extent of changing and overturning nature itself. He does not conceal Himself under a sparkling diamond or some other precious stone, because He does not want to abide with man in an ostentatious manner. But He hides Himself under the appearance of a small piece of bread--man's ordinary nourishment--so that when received He might enter the heart of man and there take His delight. Ardenter amantium hoc est-Those who love ardently act in this way. 'O Eternal Wisdom,' says the saint, 'O God who is truly lavish with Himself in His desire to be with man.' "The Love of Eternal Wisdom #71, St. Louis de Montfort(1 Corinthians 11:23-26)
----With what disposition and degree of attentiveness do we typically receive our Lord in Holy Communion? How frequently do we attend Mass and receive Communion? How much time do we spend praying before the Blessed Sacrament? And even more importantly, do we truly believe that Christ is present in the Bread and Wine? And if not, why do we ignore Christ's and the Apostles teachings on this? And if so, do we truly seek to spend as much time, lovingly, humbly, and devoutly, with Him in the Eucharist, or do we(as I so often do) put off spending time with Him, or allow our day to 'get in our way', and forget to spend time with the God who gave His life for us?------
---- Let us determine how we can receive Holy Communion with greater attention and devotion, and then do so. If we find ourselves unable to receive Communion, determine what we are going to do to rectify this situation. And then DO IT! If there is one object, or physical thing, created, born, or produced, that we, as Christians and Catholics, should worship, in spirit and truth, it is the Eucharist. We should live a life that revolves around the worship of the Body and Blood of Christ!!(and I speak more to myself than to anyone else)----May God grant us the grace to truly believe and obey the Scriptures, and to live our lives with and for Him, especially within the Most Holy Eucharist, which is Christ on Earth. Amen.
